Workshop Organization

CDDA 2013 workshop

Faculty, scientists, industry professionals, students, and NSF representatives conclude the first day of information sharing at the 2013 Spring Workshop.

Assessment of this year’s workshop will determine future meeting content and has the ability to transform research methodology. One of the most important expected outcomes of the IAB meeting is determining attendee interest in proposed research for the coming year. LIFE evaluation forms will be distributed that ask attendees to rate presentations based on research quality and funding interest. Based on feedback provided on the LIFE forms, recommendations for future research and presentations will be formulated.

CDDA’s Directors, Dr. Arie Kaufman from Stony Brook University, and Dr. Dimitris Metaxas from Rutgers University, will present CDDA’s goals, vision, and value for industry and government partners. They will highlight each of their institutions capabilities that support CDDA. Presenters from the private sector include an M&A Strategy Officer and a Research Officer from CA Technologies. Presenters from Yahoo Labs and the federal government have also been invited. This year’s presentations and poster sessions focus on the areas of image informatics, data integrity, probabilistic modeling, and knowledge acquisition. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour Stony Brook University’s Virtual Reality Lab, Augmented Reality Lab, Reality Deck, and Web Accessibility Lab & Data Center.
